Goal 1: Ideas from the community

Here are some of the ideas suggested by the community to make Durham County Libraries more customer-centered. Check out the details of Goal 1 on the Goal 1 page. Please add your own suggestions!

1. Reference materials and computers are in separate rooms for privacy and quiet.

2. Has two email homework help services: one via instant messaging and another via regular email (may be staffed by retired teachers)

3. Books on Disc given a high priority in the budget, emphasizing the classics as well as current fiction and nonfiction, and including as much world literature as possible, and works in foreign languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish).

4. It would be great to have WINDOWS in the children's room.

5. Some comfortable reading spaces with good lighting in the adult fiction section would be nice.

6. Make all the libraries accessible by bikes and walkers.
