What a wonderful two days of listening to the community members as they shared their hopes and dreams for Durham County Libraries, now our challenge as library staff is to implement those hope and dreams. Thanks to all that made this day possible! Sandra Sebbas/East Regional Administrative Manager/Strategic Planning Co-Director

- I'm so pleased to have dozens of people from throughout the Durham community, and about a dozen staff members, working to visualize and crystallize ways to build a great community through the library services we are creating together. We're all gaining much better knowledge of what this community needs as we build a plan. Thank you all! - Skip Auld, DCL library director
- This Search Conference is a very effective strategy for receiving community input from the diverse communities that use and support a sustainable, responsive, and effective public library in Durham. Ben Speller, Former Dean and Professor, School of Library and Informaton Sciences, North Carolina Central University.

I am very excited to have taken part in this Conference! The diversity of Professionals and Community Members at the Future Search Conference exemplified that the library is an indispensable resource for ALL. Most encouraging was the merging or meeting of the minds as the table exercises took place and resulted in a myriad of ideas. There were such extraordinary contributions to the implementing of the new strategic plan for DCL. With this type of support from the community in staff, DCL "will be able to go, where no other library has gone before. (I quote Aftab, thanks.) - Tanika Terry
