Greensboro Public Library and May Memorial Bus Trip

Evaluations

More open mobile spaces, flexibility in use.

More technological sorting systems and check in/ check out.

Continuing evolution in model of what a library is, and the cooperation of staff with integrating technology and tradition.

Better display for books

Programs tying reading to other skills in education: art, music, science, etc…

Interactive, rotating signage with theme

Make sure our library is neat, clean, and well organized, books are neat on shelves and many other neat ideas.

No Sunday hours unless there are more staff to work Sunday.

The Greensboro library has well written policies for the computer users.

Did not notice any patrons using cell phones, only Durham County patrons were using cell phones.

Greensboro library has a well written policy for library users.

Burlington has increased circulation by circulating older issues of magazines at all service points.

Computer users are better behaved in all sites, compared to Durham

We need to set some limits to noise, socializing, disturbing…

Lots of charm with pictures, antique furniture, beautiful clock etc… No charm in Durham County Libraries, consider beautification in the out of doors.

Open bins for easy access and the book for children and open bins for CD’s and DVD’s.

Round area where PC’s are placed for the adults takes up less room and gives privacy.

Collaboration between library and art display, right now there is not any at East.

Put up one page of concise computer use policy, on each computer.

YA graphic novels separated from the rest of the YA collection, kids can find them easier, not this way at East or North in Durham.

  1. When children and their parents wait for a long time to use the computers in the children’s unit, they often get angry and combative. Can we offer them more things to do?

·         We can pull craft, art, sports and picture books off the shelves and put them in a display area between the sofas. If we add a small table with paper pencils and crayons, maybe the kids can do something besides stare at the computers

Long term
